Kyliska nervously made her way into Silvermoon City. It had been quite some time since she had stepped foot in the actual City. She was mourning the loss of her sister as well as dealing with the hauntings or whatever was happening at Sunfire Estate. And the small problem of her niece suddenly appearing out of nowhere, that was a small issue to contend with as well. Kyli had reached out to Selenthiel Felo'melorn about the strange happenings at the Estate and she suggested meeting, along with the other members of House Felo'melorn that included none other than Tyavel, and Andithiel. She knew that it would be hard to see Andithiel, but she was that desparate for help that she would risk the awkwardness of the whole situation.
Lost in thought, Kyli didn't even realize that she was now at the front gates of House Felo'melorn. She had a frown on her face. Beside her, was her niece Astariel who insisted on coming with her. She looked up at Kyli and smiled.
"Aunt Kyli, it will be ok!" she said happily. "I'm sure they will be super happy to see you! And Andi LOVES you I'm sure of it!"
Kyliska sadly smiled at her niece. "Oh dear Asta, Andi and I had some.....disagreements recently, I do not think he will be happy to see me at all, but his sister asked me to come so that is why I am here. This needs to be done." She sighed, put on a brave face and approached the guards.
"Good day, I am here to speak to Selenthiel Fel'melorn, she is expecting me." Kyliska said assertively.
The guards looked at each other and nodded and opened the door for them to enter. Kyliska looked around at the wonderfully decorated House. It had been a while since she had set foot inside House Felo'melorn. She didn't realize how nervous she would feel. It felt like enemy territory, she knew she would be unwanted but two out of the three Felo'melorns. Kyliska reached down and took Astariel's hand into her own and kept walking. A House servant lead them to a meeting room that Kyli had seen in passing before but had never actually been in. It was for more formal meetings, Biara would usually handle the House politics.
"Please take a seat and make yourselves comfortable. I will let Lady Selenthiel and her siblings know that you are here and ready to see them. Would you like a refreshment while you wait?" the servant said with a polite smile.
"Oh no thank-you, we are fine." Kyliska responded. She thought to herself that she could use some alcohol to soothe her nerves but that would not be wise in this situation. Before the servant could leave Astariel jumped up.
"Oh wait! I would like some refreshments! I would like some milk please! Or some candy! Do you have candy? No wait! Ice cream! I just love ice cream!"
Kyliska looked firmly at her niece and then back to the servant. "I think a glass of milk and some cookies would be just fine, thank-you." Astariel slightly frowned but then sat down on the floor making a small fire ball that she was playing with. Kyliska sighed but knew that the more she tried to stop her from doing things like that the more she would do. And without Biara around, she didn't know much about magic so she knew when to choose her battles. If the fireball got TOO big then Kyli would have to step in.
It felt like hours had passed when it was mere minutes. Selenthiel, Tyavel, and Andithiel walked into the meeting chamber. Selenthiel smiled sweetly at Kyliska and Astariel, Tyavel showed no emotion on her face, and Andithiel looked just as nervous as Kyli did. Kyliska smiled at Selenthiel, and looked toward Tyavel and Andithiel and shared the same smile. Andithiel quickly averted his gaze and Tyavel just held her expression. Selenthiel made her way towards Kyliska and surprised her with a warm hug.
"I am so sorry Kyli about your sister. I am also sorry for not coming to see you sooner. Even before you had reached out to me, I should have come to see how you were holding up. I know how close you two were." she started. "Please take a seat." Selenthiel motioned to the small meeting table with large comfortable chairs around it.
Astariel looked up to Selenthiel. "Excuse me! Miss Selenthiel, what are you saying about my mother? She is just away, and she will be back soon!" she said. "I mean I know she should have told someone where she was going but I know she is fine!"
Selenthiel looked to Kyliska with a concerned look on her face. "Asta dear could you go in the room across the hall? I have set aside some toys for you to play with, I need to speak with your Aunt for a little while."
"Sure Miss Selenthiel!" she went running off.
Kyliska looked to Selenthiel. "See, she will not accept that her mother is dead, everytime that I try to mention it, she just gets more mad at me. I do not know what to do. And also the pure fact that she is HERE still boggles my mind!" Kyliska said. "I think I am losing my mind. In some ways I know that she should be here, but then I think there is no possible way she can be alive, I know that she died!"
Selenthiel looked towards her siblings and then back to Kyliska. "Everything will be ok Kyli. We will figure out what is going on, I'm sure of it."
Kyliska stood up and began to pace back and forth, she started to speak fast. "I really do think I am losing my mind. Weird things have been happening at the Estate. I think Biara is actually haunting me, if you can believe that. Or maybe her spirit just has unfinished business and cannot leave or something? I do not know! All I do know is that I have not been able to sleep for weeks. And now I have my niece to take care of, and I have NO idea how to take care of children. My sister is dead. I feel like my whole life is falling apart. And Andi....." she looked to Andi as she stopped her rant. He was staring intently at her, his expression hard to read.
Andithiel started to walk towards Kyli and opened his mouth to say something but Kyli interrupted him. "Andi, I know, I'm sorry. I know everything that I have done to you and to your House. This was very hard for me to reach out to House Felo'melorn after everything that has happened between us. But that is why I did it, because that is how unnerved I am about what is going on." she pressed on. "Look at my bracelet. Look at it. It is glowing. Do you know what that means? It only glows when Biara is alive. So that means I am crazy, right? How is this possible?"
Andithiel shrugged. "Kyli, I know it must have been hard for you to come here. Even after everything I do not hate you, it is hard to be around you but I do not hate you. I do wish for us to help you. I feel sorry that you are going through all of this with no one to lean on."
Tyavel also spoke up. "It is a little strange Kyliska. That child, her energy feels different to me. I cannot place it. Something is odd about her. I would like to examine her a little more closely, if that is alright. Also would you be able to get a hair sample from her? I could do some experiments on that as well."
"I think I would be able to get a strand of her hair for you to study. I would appreciate any help that you can give me Tyavel. I'm just at a loss as to what is going on here." Kyliska said. Kyliska liked to put on a brave face but her emotions were getting the best of her. Tears started to form in her eyes and fall down her cheeks. She quickly tried to wipe them away, but it was no use, the Felo'melorn's could all plainly see that she was upset. Andithiel seemed conflicted, like he wanted to go and comfort Kyliska but was also still mad with her and felt like it was not the best idea. Tyavel's expression softened ever so slightly, and Selenthiel smiled sadly at Kyli and walked over to her and took her hand.
"Kyli, I know this is a lot for you to handle right now. Would you like a glass of wine to help calm your nerves?" she said softly. All Kyli had to do was nod slowly and a glass was brought to her. She gulped it down fast. "Now do you feel a little better?"
Kyliska nodded again and started to get slightly angry. "I think I know who did this, who killed my sister." she started. "I think we ALL know who is the blame here. Who is always to blame for the attacks against my family." she looked to Andithiel. "To our family."
Selenthiel looked to her siblings and then back to Kyli. She nodded to encourage Kyliska to say the words out loud. Kyliska started to speak slowly, and deliberately. "Seluna Dawnsea. Although there is no evidence I know it was her. There is no one else. She must pay.She will pay. If it is the last thing I do, I will see her dead, or banished or whatever you do to an undead thing like her."
Tyavel smirked. "This will be fun. A battle. Your sister was a good mage, and I shall help you in defeating her murderer in honor of her memory."
Kyliska smiled and then turned back to Selenthiel. "Sel, there is one thing, the artifact that you have of Biara's, you still have that am I correct?"
"Yes Kyli I have it sealed off in a secret location. Why do you ask?"
"Because if we are to attack Seluna, that artifact needs to be kept safe at all costs. She cannot by no means ever get her hands on that artifact. Do you understand me?" Kyliska said seriously.
"Yes Kyli, I understand. I will make sure that Tyavel puts extra wards up around it, and I will have guards to watch over the room it is kept in. I promise you this." she said. "And also,Seluna will pay for her sins once and for all. We will help in any way that we can."
Andithiel stepped forward slightly. He looked like he wanted to say something. Kyli just stared at him for a minute that in her mind lasted a lot longer. If only things were different. Things wouldn't be so strange right now. He would come over and give Kyli a hug and tell her everything would be ok. He would help her through her grief of losing her sister. He would make everything alright. He was her rock, and now that they were no longer together she felt uneasy, and unbalanced. Maybe in time things could be different, but for now they were just two people who were in love and that was over now. She only hoped that one day they could get back to where they were.
"Kyli, I will also help you defeat Seluna. Our Houses were always allied and even though I did not always agree with Biara and what she stood for, I do know that you loved her and she was your sister. She did not deserve to die the way she did." Andithiel said.
Kyli smiled sadly at him. "Thank-you my love....I mean Andi." she then turned to Tyavel and Selenthiel. "Thank-you to both of you as well. I cannot say how much I appreciate the help of House Felo'melorn. We will together avenge my sister's death, and then maybe her soul will be at peace."
Everyone got quiet. It was a little more peaceful, some of the tension was gone. It was like they all agreed on a moment of silence for Biara Sunfire. They even bowed their heads. Kyliska was the first to talk after a few moments. "Thank-you again. I must go home for now. I look forward to hearing any news or findings that you come across."
"Yes we will keep you up to date on any findings. Safe travels my friend."
Kyliska went to Astariel and both left House Felo'melorn. Asta looked up to her Aunt and smiled. "See Aunt Kyli!" she exclaimed. "I told you everything would be all better! I saw the way Andi looked at you! He totally still LOVES you!!!!!"
Kyli smiled as she walked hand in hand with her niece back to Sunfire Estate. Her mind slightly more at ease than before. Now she felt resolve, that even if she perished in trying to avenge her sister's death, she would not have died in vain. She would have died doing what she loved and serving justice to a foe that would never stop until both her and her sister were dead. She already succeeded in killing one of them, and Kyli would make sure that she would take Seluna out with her. She would indeed pay for all of her sins. Biara would finally be able to rest in peace.
