Edmund Weslin was relaxing after a long negotiation. It was tiring
running House Weslin. His thoughts always seemed to turn to his
daughters Kenzie and Biara though. Biara had seemed to vanish into thin
air, and more recently Kenzie had gone missing. He didn't understand it.
He had two daughters and now they were both gone. They were probably
out with friends and just forgot to check in as they tended to do. They
never wanted for anything growing up, so this was their only way to defy
their parents. It did worry him that he hadn't heard word at all about
either of them though.
Edmund sighed as he sat down. It got so lonely ever since they left, and
his wife had died many years ago. Yes he had servants but it just
wasn't the same. As if on cue one of the House servants came to him.
"Sir, a letter just arrived for you." the servant said as he handed it to Edmund.
"Thank-you." Edmund eyed the letter with curiosity. This could be word
about his daughters. Suddenly he started to read the letter quickly.
*Sir Edmund Weslin. It is with great sadness that I bring this news to
you. Your daughter Kenzie Weslin is dead. I do not know how this came to
be. I just heard of this news myself and wanted you to be aware. My
condolences in this time of grief.*
The letter was unsigned. Edmund just stared at the letter and re-read it
over and over. How can this be? How can Kenzie be dead? What happened
to her? Suddenly overtaken with grief, he fell to the floor, his body
shaking as he sobbed.
* * *
Kenzie smiled to herself when Catterneri came back to her with the news
that the letter was delivered to her father. Now he will stop wondering
if I am alive or not. It is true Kenzie Weslin is indeed dead, Kenzie
Dawnsea the Sin'dorei is alive and well though! She giggled. She did
feel slightly bad that her father was in so much pain, but it was better
that he think that she was dead than to know what she had become. He
would never approve of what she did, and especially for the reasons. He
didn't even know that Biara was never his daughter, she was just a fake
memory that she had given them.
Her father would move on from this news. Maybe someday she could also
send word to him that Biara was never his daughter. But for now, he had
just lost one daughter, let him grieve that before he lost another.
Kenzie would make Biara regret that she ever came into her and her
father's life. That she pretended for all that time to be her sister and
make her trust her, when she was really spying on them. Kenzie took a
deep breath and composed herself. Patience, she told herself. Biara
would get what was coming to her in due time....
Kenzie sighed looking at her sister Biara frolick in the water in Elwynn Forest. She did love to mess around and get dirty, whereas Kenzie did not like to get her clothes ruined. She did enjoy spending time with her sister though. They always had a special bond, yes they fought like all sisters tend to do, but there was always that feeling that they would never stay mad at each other for too long. They were teenagers just having a good time. Their father Edmund would get mad at them for staying out too late or not taking their House responsibilites seriously enough, but right now Kenzie didn't care.
"Kenzie, come on in, the water is quite warm!" Biara yelled.
"Oh sister, you know how I hate to swim and get my hair all wet! I'm fine just watching you!" Kenzie called back.
Biara did not like this answer and promptly got out of the waterand shook her wet hair out on Kenzie.
"I cannot beleive you just did that! You are so going to pay for that little sister!!!" Kenzie laughed. She chased Biara down by the water and tackled her into it. She knew this was Biara's plan all along but it was still fun. Both sisters laughed as they both kept pushing each other under the water. Their laughing and playing seemed to go on for hours. Finally the sisters got tired and got out of the water, they gathered their towels and sat quietly next to each other.
"Kenzie, I just wanted you to know that I love you so much. I have always looked up to my big sister, and I hope to be just like you someday!" Biara said seriously.
"Biara, that is so sweet, I was just thinking that I hope I can be more like you!" Kenzie started. You are so carefree, I need to learn to let loose more often like we just did before. Life is about having fun as well as other things, I need to realize that."
Kenzie put her arm around Biara and they both smiled at each other. Warm, genuine smiles. Biara was fumbling around in her bag, seeming to be looking for something. Then she pulled it out. It was a ring, a beautiful ring. It had a deep red stone on a gold band.
"Sister, I want you to have this. To remember me by." Biara said.
"Oh Biara, it's beautiful! But what do you mean to remember you by, are you going somewhere?" Kenzie replied.
"Oh no sister, I would never leave you, I would miss you too much! But just in case something ever happens to me, I want you to have this. This world is very dangerous and I just want you to keep this as a momento of our sisterhood."
Kenzie smiled warmly at her younger sister and took the ring. She hugged her tightly. "Biara I will protect you, do not worry. No harm will ever come to you as long as I am living."
Kenzie's eyes snapped open suddenly. She must have fallen asleep. Yet she knew that what she thought was a dream was not a dream but a memory. She laughed to herself as she realized that it was indeed not a real memory though and just something that Biara had made her to believe was a memory. That never actually happened, even though in Kenzie's heart she believed it so. Anger began to manifest in Kenzie as she thought back to that day that never existed. Biara thought she was some pawn that she could mess with. Mess with her very own memories, and then just rip them away from her.
She looked down on her left index finger to the ring that Biara had given her on that day. Yes the day never happened but Biara did indeed give her that ring. Kenzie wore it as a contant reminder that Biara was never truely her sister, just a ploy. Of course Kenzie made sure there were no magical effects on it after she realized that Biara was not her sister and indeed a Sin'Dorei. It was just a normal ring now anyway, but Kenzie knew that one day she would give Biara this ring back. She might not remember that memory, but Kenzie did, and she would make sure that Biara remembers it too along with all of Kenzie's memories. She will learn what it feels like to be scorned by someone you loved with all your heart. Kenzie smirked as she lightly caressed the ring. Sweet, carefree Biara, what a joke. I have been laying low, but I will strike soon enough, and my vengeance will be had....
