*Kyliska was last seen crying walking through the gates of Sunfire
Estate. She was clearly upset. She wiped the tears from her eyes and set
out towards the training dummies to take out some of the aggression
that she now felt after meeting with House Felo'melorn.*
*After
a time, a blonde-haired Sin'dorei appears, leaning casually against one
of the arches that leads back into the Estate. He watches Kyliska for a
time, studying her movements.*
"At least you're not taking out whatever this is on the recruits this time," Braeth'el says casually.
*Kyliska jumped at hearing a voice. She turned to look at Braeth'el.*
"Oh
I did not see you there Brae." she was breathing heavily from hitting
the training dummy. "I am fine, just needed to work through something."
Braeth'el
nods at this, meeting her gaze and holding it, "I know where you went
earlier. It's pretty obvious what this is about. He's still getting to
you."
Kyliska
sighed. "I'm sorry. I should just assume you know everything I am
doing." she started. "I really just went to talk to him and to make
peace. I do not want to fight, but he had other plans in mind. He will
not budge, will not apologize, and I feel like it will put stress on our
two Houses."
Braeth'el
shifts, moving away from the arch and walking towards Kyliska. He moves
beyond her, studying the gashes in the training dummy before turning to
speak again, "When you go to visit other Houses in an official
capacity, I make sure I am informed.
I make sure we have agents available to aid you in the event of
treachery. I've been doing this for many years, and as long as you're
the Lady Sunfire you will never walk around alone. Didn't your sister
warn you of this?"
"No
she did not. I still have much to learn in leading our House. I do know
that you have watched out for me throughout the years, but I did not
know how much more so that would be if I were the Lady Sunfire." she
paused. "I also do not think we have to
worry about treachery with House Felo'melorn, my issues are more
personal as you know. But it is done for now. He would not even talk to
me. It is done. And now our House relations are strained because he
cannot be mature about this."
Braeth'el
moves closer, his gaze going down to the white-knuckled grip that
Kyliska is maintaining on her blade before bringing his eyes back up to
hers, "For now? Meaning it's not done with entirely."
Kyliska
shook her head. "I meant it is done between me and Andi. That is what I
meant to say. I really cannot think clearly with my heart pounding like
this. I just thought that I could keep things civil between us, now I
know he cannot do that." She looks to Braeth'el and takes a few deep
breaths trying to calm down.
Braeth'el
seems to consider this. He moves around and behind Kyliska, his arms
wrapping around her. One of them grasps her left hip, the other slides
down her right arm to grasp the forearm. He guides her arm up, her metal
practice sword glinting in the
fading light of the day, "There are two ways to fight. The one you are
most accustomed takes the raw emotion within you and directs it at your
foe."
Guiding her arm, he brings Kyliska's blade down in a rough slash against the target.
"A
smart and powerful Lady will know when to do this, and when it is
necessary to instead step away from those feelings such that a proper
thrust can be made," he continues. He guides her arm again, the sword
dashing forward and impaling the target in its 'heart', the blade
quivering in the wood.
He
gently turns Kyliska around, staring into her eyes, "It is up to you to
decide what kind of leader you wish to be. To decide if you want the
burdens and emotions of the past to weigh you down and make you wild, or
if you want to embrace what the here and now holds and strike your
enemies with a clever, singular stroke. You have said you wish to
change, and this is the ultimate end of that change."
Kyliska
stares back into Braeth'el's eyes. Then she looks away slightly, trying
not to let her feelings for him get in the way. "I do wish to change,
it is just hard. I act on my emotions too much, I know this and I know
it is something I need to work on."
she paused. "I know what you say is true, I just do not know if I can
do that, I am a different beast during battle, my mind shuts off and I
am led by my blood rage. My past emotions helps to shape who I am today
Brae. I would not even be a Blood Knight if it were not from emotions of
my past. I would be a totally different person if I did not let myself
to feel the emotions of my past...."
He
lets out a soft grunt at this, releasing Kyliska and standing beside
her. In a quick, fluid motion he reaches down and draws three daggers,
the blades flying through the air and landing point-first in the target,
quivering around Kyliska's larger blade.
He turns to look at her again, his expression neutral, "We all fight
with whatever we can draw from, so I'll not fault you for that. We're
not on a battlefield right now though Kyli; we're in the here and now,
together."
He
steps closer to her, an arm wrapping around her back and drawing her
close to him, staring down into her eyes now, "I will never begrudge you
for what you've had in the past, but don't let it cloud what you can
have now. There are better Sin'dorei than Andithiel Felo'melorn.
Sin'dorei who are willing to look out for your interests and who will
care for you in the here and now. Don't forget that."
Kyliska
gasped as Braeth'el held her in his strong arms and stared back into
his eyes. Her heart was now beating faster but not from beating on those
dummies. "Braeth'el.....I could never forget that."
He
grins down at her, leaning forward to kiss her before spinning her
around and leaning in close, his lips inches from her long, pointed ear,
"I think you've had enough practice for the day, wouldn't you say? Time
to relax a little and get all your...tensions...out."
She
smiles back at him and laughs. "I did not think my mood would ever
improve today, but you sure are good at making me feel better Braeth'el!
Yes let us go to my room to remove those tensions!"
