The sound of
fighting could be heard from the center of the ancient arena as
Andissiel continued to scour both the arena floor and crowd for Kyliska.
Nothing. The sounds of metal crashing upon metal bore into his mind as
he attempted to think quietly to himself. “She ‘has’ to be here…” he
said quietly to himself. His gaze turned back to the floor of the
arena, the two dualists, a Human and an Orc fiercely fought one another,
attempting to cut one another down at each swing. It was a perfect
dual, there would be no better rivalry than Humans and Orcs as both
cared little for each other.
He continued to watch the fight as both contestants brutally attacked one another. There were no rules here. Andissiel’s eyes moved to the edges of the arena floor to where other contestants awaited their turn in the arena, each one fighting for a different purpose. Glory, fame, honor, money, or perhaps the simple bloodlust of the fight. It would be Kyliska’s lust for battle that drove her here.
Andissiel’s face grew grim as there was no sign of his love. Had he made a mistake? “No…no. I heard those warriors speak of Kyliska coming here…she HAS to be here.” he thought to himself as his gaze continued to scan the arena floor for any sign of her. The crowd cheered. Andissiel looked to the center of the arena. The Orc had fallen leaving the Human to claim victory. The Human’s counterparts, more Humans, cheered from the sides of the arena floor. Perhaps she did not come? Or maybe she had already fought…did she over-come her foe or did she fall? Was she hurt? Question after question entered his mind and with each one, he grew more worried. Andissiel could not bear to see her hurt ….or worse, killed. She was all he had to live for, she was the reason he was able to feel happiness in this world.
The Humans continued to cheer, becoming ever more annoying to him. Andissiel envisioned in his mind bearing his bow and releasing a volley of arrows to silence them, watching each one fall to the ground dead…in silence…and silence it was. The Humans cheer turned into silence as a brawl between one of their fellow men was caught in a brawl with one of the other constants. Andissiel turned his attention to the contestant, a blonde haired woman wearing plate armor. The armor itself glistened in the sunlight, shooting a beam of light into Andissiel’s eyes, as if the sun itself was hiding the women’s identity. He quickly turned his gaze to adjust from the glare of the sun, still watching the woman fight with the human warrior before her. The two opponents clashed blades as the two fought, slowly they moved into the shadows of the inner arena.
Andissiel was quick to recognize the armor of a Sin’Dorei Blood Knight. His heart began to race. He knew his heart was telling him it was her. He walked down a set of stairs, edging his way closer to the inner circle of the arena. The crowd around him now cheered at the two inside the arena, presuming it was the next set of contestants. The closer he got, the more he could make out a large emblem embroidered into the back of the Blood Knights cloak. “Dayfire…” he whispered under his lips. His world froze for a brief moment as the Blood Knights identity became clear.it was Kyliska Sunblade.
Andissiel stood in shock as he watched the woman he loved, fight in the arena. Kyliska’s rage was easily apparent. She cried out as she swung to strike the human before her with her sword only to clash with his, sending an almost deafening echo throughout the arena. Kyliska shoved the man away from her as she attempted to swing once more. The human was quick to miss her strike as he jumped away. Kyliska was quick to close in the gap between them and swung once more, this time slicing through the human’s armor. The human cried out in pain and fell to his knees while blood began to ooze out of the man’s open wound. Kyliska pointed her sword tip at the man’s throat. “You are weak human….more so stupid. You come to fight smelling like you just came out of a parlor filled with scented candles.” Kyliska said while laughing at her own joke. Andissiel smiled, happy the fight was over.
Andissiel watched Kyliska toy with her opponenent for a moment before his attention focused on a human approaching Kyliska from behind. Andissiel shouted “Kyliska, behind you!” to attempt to get her attention but it was too late. The human rogue had already gone into stealth. Kyliska turned her attention away from the man before her and turned around only to be incapacitated a moment later. Out from behind her, a human rogue un-stealthed and walked over to the warrior to help him up. The warrior slowly raised himself with the aid of the other and grabbed his sword lying on the ground. “You did well brother, luring out the last Dayfire sister. Our employer will be pleased to have ended the last remnants of House Dayfire.” The rogue smiled at the warrior as the two exchanged looks. “At my own cost…of course. She is a dedicated fighter, she is Dayfire’s true champion.” the warrior said with a smirk. Kyliska shot a look of disgust at them both but said nothing. “Nothing to say? Hm, well that is all well with me. Good-bye, champion of Dayfire….” The human warrior pulled out a shiv and brought it to Kyliska’s neck preparing to end her life but as he did, he grunted. Looking down, an arrow lay embedded into his chest. The warrior toppled over dead, leaving the rogue in shock.
Andissiel jumped down into the arena floor and kept his bow aimed at the rogue. The rogue attempted to flee but the poison that left Kyliska incapacitated had already worn off. Kyliska’s emerald eyes glowed with rage as she stepped closer to the rogue quickly slamming the hilt of her sword into his face, knocking him to the ground. The rogue landed on the dirt, stirring up a pile of dust around him. Kyliska laughed at him. “Fool…did you think it would be that simple? “ She laughed once more, her expression quickly turning serious. Her hands tightly gripped the hilt of her sword as she looked down to the ground where the rogue lay, bleeding and bruised from the hit to his face. “And now…..we end this.” She grinned knowing her own personal victory was at hand. She drove the sword down with all her strength but she was slammed into the ground by another force, her sword flying from her hands. Kyliska hit the ground with the stranger but she was quick to jump on her feet, her eyes were quick to locate the rogue, whom already was taking advantage of the situation by jumping into stealth and disappearing from sight. She screamed in anger as her victory was taken from her. She located her sword and picked it up and turned her attention to the stranger who now just stood less than 20 feet from her. She charged before realizing who it was....
Andissiel's eyes widened as Kyliska charged at him, enraged. He did not know if she cared if it was him or if she truly was blind by the anger inside her. He was quick to jump away as Kyliska swung her sword, missing his left arm by only mere inches. He landed, but only in time for Kyliska to turn herself around to come at him once more. Andissiel knew he could not take her head on, she was too strong for him. He would have to use his agility to stay ahead of her. He would never attack her. He jumped, but it was too late. The tip of Kyliska's sword ripped open his garment, glazing his skin. Andissiel felt the sharp sting from the cut as he clenched his teeth, attempting to hold back the pain. Andissiel heard a wince from Duststalker , in which he quickly turned to see his companion acting confused on the side of the arena, unsure what to make of the fighting. A sharp pain hit his face, quickly realizing he had not been paying attention to Kyliska, whom was quick to strike him down by thrusting her fist into Andissiel's face causing him to fall to the ground.
Once again, a cloud of dust slowly settled on the arena floor. The echo of chants and cheers slowly began to return to Kyliska's hearing as her 'foe' lay on the ground. She walked over to the man, whom was now lying on his side. No smile appeared on her face, the sound of laughter did not escape her lips...only the look of victory and success. She drew her sword up for the last time, "Your death is certain...but I will give you the choice to die quickly or painfully....if you tell me why you attacked me." Kyliska's eyes focused on the man. His hair was blonde and she realized that this was no man, but another Sin'Dorei. Slowly the man turned to his back, revealing his face. Kyliska's heart stopped and her eyes widened. "Because, I love....you" the man almost whispered.
Kyliska's mouth opened out of shock. Andissiel lay before her, battered and bruised from her own doing. She dropped to her knees and grabbed the man she loved. "Andi, what....what are you doing here? I ...thought you had left me!" Tears began to roll down her face. Dirt clinged to Andissiel's face as he forced a smile. "I would never leave you." Kyliska smiled and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly, causing him to grunt from pain. She was quick to withdraw but, Andissiel grabbed her and pulled her in for a long and passionate kiss.
“Andi, you should not have attacked me! I could have killed you!” Kyliska started, but Andi put a finger to her lips. “Hush my love, I can handle some pain. I just wanted to make sure that you were alright.” Kyliska smiled as the tears continued to stream down her face. “You have no idea how happy I am to see you….I felt as if I had nothing left to live for.”
Andissiel kissed her again and whispered “You have me to live for. I will love you till the day I die.” The two found themselves staring into each others eyes, not noticing the crowd of the arena had fallen silent.
Kyliska placed her arms around Andissiel and helped him up. Dustalker ran to the pair and was quick to rub up against them both. The pair began to slowly walk towards the arena exit before Andissiel looked over to Kyliska whom looked worried and sad. "I....am not sure where we are to go. Dayfire Spire is gone...our home is no more.” he admitted to her in a doubtful expression. Kyliska smiled, "No, we are returning to Silvermoon. We are returning and we are going to rebuild the Spire. We are together again and that is all that matters."
The two, followed by a feline left Gurubashi Arena as the sun began to set over Stranglethorn.
He continued to watch the fight as both contestants brutally attacked one another. There were no rules here.
